Bio

Whether photographing architecture, or nature two of her favorite subjects, Dianne’s photographic work is influenced by her background in graphic design. This guides her to simplify what she sees. In her photographs of the interior and exterior of old or decrepit buildings, she is attracted to bold shapes, reflections and shadows, as well as the textures of the worn wood and faded surfaces she encounters. Her interest in houses also compliments her profession as a realtor in Cambridge.

Dianne Schaefer's photographs have appeared in solo exhibition at Uncas Farm Gallery in Maine and in juried group shows including: Panopticon Gallery (Waltham), Brush Gallery, (Lowell), Cambridge Art Association, Concord Art Association, Arlington Center for the Arts, NESOP Gallery One, and Photography Atelier exhibitions.

Dianne has studied photography and digital printing at the Art Institute of Boston, New England School of Photography, and Photography Atelier. She has also studied at Maine Photographic Workshops, Santa Fe Photographic Workshops, both in Mexico, and the Southwest, and the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown with Costa Manos. She was an assistant teacher in Photoshop at Lesley University.
