Winter's Edge
The following images were created during early
January and February of 2005. It was a New England winter with
so much snow. I was fortunate to shoot in three consecutive
snowstorms that winter. I hoped to capture the minimalist nature
of winter with my camera and then pull colors and textures onto
these clean winter canvasses. Winter's Edge was a photographic
experiment in expanding the boundaries of digital imaging by
the use of texture, color and final print presentation.
The series was digitally captured on the North
Shore of Massachusetts. Each print was enhanced with various
rock textures and hand - painted. The final prints are archival
inkjets, mounted on clay board and coated with melted beeswax.
