Ghost Ranch close to the fall equinox
Prehistoric peoples left evidence of their presence as far back as 12,000 years ago.
By the 11th and 12th centuries, other prehistoric communities thrived here. Pueblo tribes such as the Hopis, Zunis, Piros, and Tewas had lives filled with beauty, culture, love, and spirituality, but when arable land became scarce, they fought with one another.

When I made this work, I was struck by the realization that Georgia O’Keeffe was responding to the same forces that drew me here.
