Between the Walls, 2006 I have always had a passion for old houses, once family homes, now fallen into disrepair. I try to imagine the people who might have lived there over the generations when the house was alive. In this series of images I have used photos from generations of my family to people the environment. It is not their house, but it could have been. Will someone live in this house again? I have arranged the ghostly inhabitants of these rooms, by making composites of contemporary and historic photographs. By moving my family into the house they come alive for me again. Dianne Schaefer
