Everywhere I look, I see massive cranes hovering over the City. Their numbers and stature, as they lumber to build and destroy, evoke an invasion of urban dinosaurs. However, in photographing them, these pieces of heavy machinery can appear to be abstract and ethereal. Their bulk is transformed into delicate sculptural forms, reflected and silhouetted against the infinite background of the sky.
