I and many others have witnessed or lived with an aging family member who has descended into senility.  My first reaction was denial that someone I had known and loved all of my life was losing her mind.  Later, I agonized seeing the frustration, panic and terror my mother experienced as she could not remember where she was and gradually lost the words to communicate.

In “nightmare” I attempt to express the devastation my mother experienced as her descent progressed, and reveal my own fear that I might follow.
