Bio
Ellen Toby Slotnick is a graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology with a BS degree in photography. Ms Slotnick’s work is in the permanent collection of theNewton Wellesley Hospital in Newton, Massachusetts and in private collections in the Boston area, California and Italy.
Her solo exhibition at the gallery of photographic art in Tel Aviv,Israel showcased her Iireland portfolio, and recently she has exhibited in group shows at the Griffin Museum of Photography and the Illuminations Project at Massachusetts General Hospital. Ms Slotnick has self-published two books of photography, “adventures in africa” which presents images from South Africa, Botswana and Zimbabwe and and “on the road- the adirondacks to arizona” photographs from a drive across the United States.
Her recent work concentrates on exploring the relationships between light, shadow and texture . she has continued her studies in workshops including those with John Paul Caponigro, on location in the central Maine coast and islands, and with George Dewolfe in the Mt. Whitney area of the sierras and Death Valley in California.
She is a member of Boston’s Photographic Resource Center as well as the Professional Photographers’ Organizations, Photographic Society of America and the American Society of Media Photographers.
