Bio
Meg Birnbaum is a photographer and graphic designer in the Boston area. She and her sister had a darkroom when they were young and both excelled in pet photography. After a brief time in art school, Meg art directed magazines and assigned photography to other people for most of her life. Many years went by until, with encouragement from friends, she pulled her old art school camera out of the closet and got back to photography.
Meg still loves film but is currently working with a digital camera. She has work in many private collections and in the permanent collection of the Museum of Fine Art, Houston and the Lishui Photography Museum in China. She has had solo exhibitions in Japan, Buenos Aires, Boston, San Francisco and Hudson, NY.
Working in photography and the photography community has changed her life in many wonderful and unexpected ways. Co-teaching the Photography Atelier at the Griffin Museum is one small way to give back and share the passion.
