Out of the Mist

There is a place close to home where I go to feel at peace with my surroundings. There the quiet and solitude is a relief from my hectic life. Hidden in the midst of a bustling office park in Needham, MA is Cutler Park. Centered around a still pond and bounded by the Charles River on one side and traffic filled Route 95 on the other side, the juxtaposition belies how serene the woods can be.

My preferred time to photograph in the park is the early morning when the fog is dense and my sense of space is shadowy and unclear. Scenes appear, disappear and then reappear in the shifting fog banks. The environment is constantly changing, while I stand still.
