Bio
Diane Davies is a fine art photographer, freelance photojournalist for the Winchester Star in Massachusetts, freelance photographer for Winchester Hospital, and photographs children under the name Lollipop Portraits.
A native of Philadelphia, she studied Fashion Design at Moore College of Art & Design. After moving to New York City, she began a career in graphic design and art direction and worked at several national publications, including Good Housekeeping, American Baby, Mode and Seventeen. Her interest in photography initially began while art directing photo shoots, working with some of the top photographers in the country. Her experience at American Baby Magazine gave her unique training assisting in all aspects of the shoot, from location to clothing selection, prop styling, and image selection, and during her time at Good Housekeeping, she was responsible for the art direction and design of the food pages.
After having children of her own and moving to Boston, she studied photography privately and was soon contributing regularly to Patch.com and the Winchester Star. Her food photographs have appeared in Boston.com and BostonMagazine.com.
Diane’s fine art food series, titled, "Sweet Role" was shown in a group exhibit for Photography Atelier 15 at the Griffin Museum, and her image, “Sfogliatelle” was selected to promote “Open to Interpretation’s”competition titled, “Love + Lust” in Fall 2012.
Her fine art children’s series, “In Plain View” is her second group exhibit for Photography Atelier 18 at the Griffin Museum.
