Bio
Ellen Toby Slotnick is a graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology with a BS degree in photography. Ms Slotnick’s work is in the permanent collection of the Newton Wellesley Hospital in Newton, Massachusetts and in private collections in the Boston area, California and Italy.
Her solo exhibition at the Worcester Jewish Community Center showcased some of her black and white landscape photography. She previously had a solo exhibition of her Ireland portfolio, at the Gallery of Photographic Art in Tel Aviv, Israel. Recently she has exhibited in group shows at the Griffin Museum of Photography, the Illuminations Project at Massachusetts General Hospital, the Concord Art Association and the Rocky Neck Art Colony in Gloucester, MA.
In her most recent work she has broadened her exploration of light, shadow and texture by expanding from her traditional landscapes to the world of interior spaces. While visiting abandoned farms and homes in North Dakota, she discovered a sense of serenity in the decay and beauty in these houses, as nature is reclaiming what was once a home.
