Wildwood

For as long as I can remember I have been drawn to Light within the natural world. I long for the gift of carefree days to explore deep into forests and woodlands.  It is within a Wildwood: a forest in a natural state filled with mysterious dimensions of veiled as well as luminous light, shape and form that I feel I have come upon a sanctuary.

My Celtic heritage informs my artistic vision; we are nourished by nature... seeing her both as a presence as well as companion.

The craft of fine art photography has given me yet another unique avenue whereby I am able to enter into and celebrate the natural beauty, harmony and mystery I encounter.

Using a digital camera converted for infrared capture has sparked my imagination and presented surprising and challenging rewards. Upon enhancing the play of light in an image; discovering and exploring the contrast, highlights and shadows within; surreal, unique and hidden qualities are revealed.  The seemingly ordinary veil disappears revealing a complexity of light, color and essence.

“Colors bring the depth of secret presence at the heart of nature.”
