Both Sides of the Glass
I spend a lot of time walking in the city, and I love looking at store window displays, especially those filled with objects that make you stop, either because of the way they are arranged, or what they are. Sometimes the objects have no relation to each other, but are deliberately arranged. Sometimes the placement is random.
The ones that attract me most are old objects, perhaps for their patina of age, textures of peeling paint and faded colors of rust. But the longer I look. I see the reflections of the town or city where they are, superimposed on the display itself. The trees in the distance, the buildings across the street, add a complexity to the original tableau.
