Animal Nature

I create images to express ideas, adding humor to better connect with the viewer. I have been working on the Animal Nature project since 2012. Which began as a comparison between my pets and me, and has evolved to a further search of the animal in human and has become an ongoing investigation of the relationship we have with animals.

I came to Boston from Mexico at the end of 2011 with my husband, our two dogs and our cat. With my husband at work all day long and no family or friends around, I started to spend a lot of time with my pets.

In Mexico pets don’t live inside the house, and this new imposed way of living made me aware of the behavioral similarities and differences between animals and humans. Suddenly I realized that besides adapting to a new environment I was also adapting to my peculiar gang, and strangely enough, it wasn’t hard to do.
