Bio
Stephen Shapiro started photographing and printing his images at an early age. He kept a basement darkroom while raising a family – all the while working as an engineer and traveling throughout Asia and Europe. Now, though the Shapiro darkroom is gone, replaced by computers and versatile photo editing software, he continues to control his picture making process as he explores the world.
Shapiro has recently begun to exhibit his fine art prints. His work was included in the 2013 Griffin Museum of Photography Members Show, Winchester MA. Photographs from his portfolio, “Night Lights” will be exhibited in “Photography Atelier 20” at the Griffin Museum, September 2014.
Stephen Shapiro studied with Eddie Soloway in a National Geographic photography workshop on outdoor photography. He is a member of the Griffin Museum of Photography and studies fine art photography with Karen Davis and Meg Birnbaum at Photography Atelier.
