Reflections and Memories

When buildings are renovated much of their original character and texture disappears, concealing their history. The state of disrepair of this barn attracted me; it’s as if the years of history have been slowly peeled away to reveal what lies beneath. At the same time the layers of wood change depending on the light and the weather, and as the years take their toll. The windows, twisted, no longer parallel to the wall that holds them, create reflections, angles, textures and colors, turning the surface of the barn into an everchanging series of abstract works of art.
