Heisue Chung was raised by a family who loved to travel, and thus developed her wanderlust at a young age. She left her native land, Seoul, Korea, moved to New York and then continued on to Boston. She follows her nomadic spirit wherever it may lead her, always with camera in hand.
Her photographic work focuses on fleeting moments shared with the strangers she encounters on her journeys. She has always dreamed of places beyond the map and thinks of her work as a footprint expanding in a circle of narrative stories exploring new cultures, new landscapes, and other lives observed.
Heisue is currently pursuing a BFA at the School of Museum of the Fine Arts in Boston through Tufts University. With camera in hand, she continues to wonder what is happening in the next state, the next country and on the other side of the world.
