Bio
Karen Davis’s photographs are featured at MASS MoCA and the Boston Drawing Project/Carroll and Sons Gallery, Boston. Her work is in the collections of the Center for Photography at Woodstock (CPW) at the Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art, the Lishui Museum of Photography, the Houghton Rare Books Library, Harvard University and in corporate and private collections.
A recipient of the 2009 Artists Fellowship Award from the CPW and a 2011 New York Foundation of Art’s (NYFA) MARK artist, recent exhibits include the: Great South Bay Gallery, Hudson NY, Lishui International Photography Festival, China, Bromfield Gallery, Boston, MA and Griffin Museum of Photography. She was selected as featured artist in the 2006 inaugural issue of The Women’s Review of Books and in 2005, three of her photographs were exhibited in “hrlm: pictures” at the Studio Museum in Harlem.
Davis, of Hudson NY, presents her work in formats including exhibition, book, and multi-media, including her website: YesThatKarenDavis.com. She teaches photo-based courses at the Griffin Museum of Photography and in Hudson at the Davis Orton Gallery.
She and her husband, Mark Orton, are co-directors of the Davis Orton Gallery,
