Bio

Alice Shafer grew up in Little Falls, Minnesota as did Charles Lindberg before her. While Shafer never learned to fly, she too traveled extensively in Europe, Russia and Asia but always with camera in hand.

Over the last two years Alice's photographs have been exhibited at the Griffin Museum of Photography (Winchester), Galatea Gallery (Boston), Cambridge Art Association, Concord Art Association, Barnstable Art Association, Hopper House Art Center (Nyack) , Salmagundi Museum of American Art (NYC) and at the Denise Bibro Fine Art Gallery (NYC).
Her on-going development as a photographer has included course work at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design and at the School of the Museum of Fine Art (SMFA) in Boston. In addition she has taken many photographic workshops including work with Harvey Stein, Joel Meyerwitz, Richard Renaldi and Karen Davis. Alice also takes workshops at the Provincetown Art Association and at Castle Hill in Truro.

Alice lives in Acton, MA and for the last six years she has maintained a studio at ArtSpace in Maynard,MA. She received a BS in Occupational Therapy with a BFA equivalent from Mount Mary College. Alice also earned an MS in Occupational Therapy from Boston University.
