Bio
Vicki Diez-Canseco is a process-oriented mixed-media artist and photographer, born in New York City of Peruvian and Brazilian parents, and carries forward the traditions of a long line of established artists and writers.
She lives on Cape Ann, MA where her work is inspired by the natural world of salt marsh, sandy and rocky coast, and man-made structures there and around the world. Shapes, patterns and color inspire exploration of an abstract view of reality. Vicki enjoys experimenting with processes for exploring expression, and respects dual citizenship of inner and external worlds.
Diez-Canseco has been selected for many juried exhibitions. Her work has appeared at the Rockport Art Association, the Newburyport Art Association, and the Rocky Neck Art Colony in Gloucester, MA. Original works are in private collections in the US and Europe.
Diez-Canseco studied fine art at Mt. Holyoke College and Massachusetts College of Art, and graphic design at Salem State University. She attended the Photography Atelier at the Griffin Museum of Photography in MA, and other private and post-graduate workshops in the US and at the National Gallery and National Portrait Gallery in London. Her nine year residence in, and extensive travel from the UK, provided rich inspiration for artistic expression.
