About the Work

Although social documentary photography has characterized most of my work, it would be more honest for me to simply admit that I photograph because taking pictures offers me a chance to engage in dialogue with working women around the world.  Recently, however, I have been taking my camera with me on walks in the countryside and in cities in order to stretch my vision even when there is no one to talk to. These images were taken one day on the Oregon coast north of Florence when a storm created spectacular explosions of waves and foam.
