Karen Davis is a photographer, book artist, and teacher.
Her work is featured at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MASS MoCA), the Boston Drawing Project/Caroll and Sons Gallery, and the Clark Gallery, LIncoln, MA and in the collections of the Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art, Lishui Museum of Photography (China) and the Houghton Rare Books Library, Harvard University.
She is the 2009 recipient of the Artists Fellowship Award from the Center of Photography at Woodstock.  Recent exhibitions include the Lishui International Photography Festival, China, and the Bromfield Gallery, Boston, MA. Her series, “The McCann Family,” was exhibited at the Griffin Museum of Photography, (Fall 2008.)  In 2006 her “Visual Memoir” project appeared in the inaugural issue of The Women’s Review of Books and she received the Director’s Prize in the CAA National Prize Show. In 2005, three of her photographs were exhibited in “hrlm: pictures” at the Studio Museum in Harlem.

Davis teaches photo-based and word-image courses in the the Seminar Series in the Arts, Art Institute of Boston/Lesley University and a workshop in websites for artists at the Center for Photography at Woodstock. She is a co-director of the Davis Orton Gallery, Hudson NY.
